General Overview
A Community for a charity is built to enable contributors to have more impact in how their money is spent. Communities could be based on political interests, religious beliefs, disaster relief, humanitarian efforts, or to promote a specific ideology. This Community type is uniquely suited for groups raising money with a desire to coordinate efforts more effectively and transparently.
One of the main challenges with charities today is how opaque the allocation of capital actually is. Questions that many donors ask include:
- Is my money actually making it to the end user?
- Are the coordinators keeping more than they should?
- Are the organizer’s interests in line with the donors?
The benefits of transparent voting efforts from the community can alleviate these concerns, as the funds are directly allocated by the donors, and can be given directly to the proper recipient.
Community Examples

- Red Cross Home Fire Education : This Community funds events to teach children what to do if there is a home fire through by providing training materials to local schools.
Token Use
The token in a Charity Community initially could serve as a recognition of contribution. The benefits provided include making a record of transaction for write off purposes. Additionally the membership could provide detailed insight from the recipients of the funds.
Once tokens are sent to the contributor’s wallets and the charity has a meaningful development fund built, users can vote on different projects that the charity wants to execute.

Conclusions
Charities are difficult to govern effectively. Communities on Native provide the tools needed to raise funds for the cause, and allow for contributors to collaborate to achieve mutual goals. Whether you are trying to raise funds to pay for school lunches, or hiring veterans to build low income housing for a community a Community could ease the burden of administration.
We would like to acknowledge that any examples you read in this series are simply a small subset of possibilities for communities to be built on Native. We are excited to see what communities ultimately do with our platform, and want to get different groups thinking in the right direction.
