React Native Meetup Bangalore- May 2017

Recently we organized our 3rd React Native Meetup at our office in Bangalore and we are overwhelmed by the great response of all the attendees.

We had several fellow technologists & technology enthusiasts working in different technologies.

A quick look at the topics discussed:

1. General foreground and history of app development.
2. Problems with native app development.
3. React Native: Introduction, features, background working.
4. Problems with React Native.
5. Expo / CRNA: Features, Why choose expo?
6. Live coded app: Basic 2 page application using React Native and NativeBase. StarWars theme app that displays a list of ‘species’ fetched from StarWars API. Used ‘react-navigation’ for navigation. Link for the app- https://github.com/Jasbir23/StarWars.

7. About NativeBase, how it solves the complexity of UI.

8. Navigation in React Native: Popular navigators explained. Use case of react-navigation explained in sample App.

9. State Management: Redux and Mobx working and architecture.

10. We had Siddharth Kshetrapal as our guest speaker. He discussed regarding “Porting an existing mobile website to React Native along with the tips and tricks”.
