Midweek Lookahead: German for Lunch, Mexican for Dinner

Christian Pulisic and Bobby Wood face off while Omar Gonzalez will try to help Pachuca reach a continental final

Christian Pulisic | Borussia Dortmund

Happy Tuesday — league play is in full swing for this midweek stretch as domestic races come closer to a finish. Here is your weekly lookahead to game and television schedules.

Christian Pulisic and Dortmund will try to shake off their 1–1 Revierderby draw against Schalke last Saturday with a bounce-back performance against Bobby Wood and Hamburg. Wood was able to play the full shift against Köln this weekend, as he returned from a minor back injury that forced him to miss the United States’ two previous qualifiers. You can catch the game today on 2:00 PM ET on Fox Sports 2. The match will also have significant implications on both ends of the Bundesliga table, as Dortmund is one point away from an automatic Champions League qualification spot while Hamburg will desperately want to create more space between themselves and the relegation play-off zone.

Other notable European fixtures include Geoff Cameron visiting Burnley, and John Brooks visiting Gladbach. Brooks was able to return to the field after experiencing the effects of a sinus infection during the previous international break. Fabian Johnson will still be out with his thigh injury.

Finally, arguably the most important Nats Abroad match this week will happen tonight in Mexico: Omar Gonzalez and Pachuca will play Major League Soccer’s FC Dallas in the CONCACAF Champions League semi-finals during the night slot. Pachuca lost the first leg 2–1 in Frisco, and will rely heavily on Liga MX’s famous home-field advantage against MLS competition in order to attempt a comeback en route a possible Final.
