Ethereum ERC-20 Compatible wallets are huge, but with NEO-based ICOs being on the rise, it is primetime to get yourself a NEO wallet. We’ll go for the NEON Wallet.

Creating a NEON Wallet

Download, install and open the NEON Wallet Installer. Below is the screen that’ll appear after you open NEON. Hit the ‘Create a new wallet’ option.

It will ask you to ‘Choose a passphrase to encrypt your private key.’ Make a an ultra-secure password. Write the passphrase down and store it somewhere safe.

  • After keying in the password, click ‘Generate keys.’
  • Once you have generated the keys, you will arrive at this screen:
  • COPY YOUR PUBLIC ADDRESS, PRIVATE KEY AND PASSCODE TO A SAFE LOCATION OR YOU WILL LOSE YOUR TOKENS.
  • Name your wallet, then hit ‘Save Account.’
  • Click back then click ‘Login using a saved wallet.’
  • Choose your wallet by selecting the name you chose for it as well as your passcode. The screen below will appear

Clicking ‘receive’ shows you your public NEO address as well as a QR code. Copy the address, this is the address you need when signing up for any NEO Whitelist that supports “NEP-5 Compatible” NEO wallets.
