In this week’s episode, we take a look at two events in China, U.S. trends in the usage of safe refrigeration, a webinar on flammable refrigerants and a controversial court case in Europe.

Brought to you by shecco Media, the NatRefs Show provides a round-up of the most important natural refrigerants news from the websites r744.com, ammonia21.com and hydrocarbons21.com.

China Refrigeration 2018, the largest HVAC&R trade show in China, took place from 9–11 April. The first ATMOsphere China conference on natural refrigerants was held on 11–12 April.

In other news, we turn our attention to the European Court of Justice, where the Advocate General has agreed with the European Commission that Germany violated the mobile air-conditioning systems (MAC) directive by allowing Daimler to continue to use R134a in its mobile air-conditioning systems.

Meanwhile LIFE FRONT, an EU-funded project that aims to remove barriers to wider uptake of hydrocarbons, announced it would hold a free webinar on 25 April at 15:00 (CEST).

We also hear from Michael Garry, our North American editor, on how low-charge ammonia is making refrigeration safer in the U.S. and the latest edition of Accelerate America.

We’d love to hear your feedback as we improve the show. Contact us at journalists@shecco.com. Happy listening!
