I love taking mixed greens powders [fruits, veggies, and superfoods condensed into powdered form].

I do.

I like the feeling that I can take a vitality elixir in one swig or mix it into my smoothie.

While there are a slew of green powders to choose from in the health and wellness market, my eyes (and heart) have landed on matcha powder recently, versus multi-ingredient green powders.

Here's why.

The supplement industry is not currently highly regulated, and many greens products have been found to contain contaminants. The more ingredients in a supplement, the higher the likelihood of contamination.

Here is a link to ConsumerLab, which regularly conducts third-party testing of popular brands for contaminants and impurities. I highly recommend subscribing for up-to-date information on which food brands might be problematic with contaminants (even the free subscription keeps you pretty informed).

And if you are consuming a supplement or greens powder that contains impurities, toxins or heavy metals (many do), then you might actually be bringing more harm than good into your body.
