San Diego Nature Events & Tree Planting For National Forest Week
Hey fellow Nature Lovers!
April is flying by and May is blooming with excitement as the sun shines and everyone begins to look forward to summer break. It is prime time to enjoy your favorite morning drink, get outdoors, relax on the beach and explore ways to enjoy some fresh air!
While we enjoy sandy toes, the warmth of the sun and making memories with friends, let’s find ways to give back to the wonderful planet that we all love. In honor of National Forest Week, we are planting a tree for every $10 of merchandise purchased from Nature’s Playbook. To encourage people to get outside, we have created a few itineraries for you in the beautiful San Diego area based on content found on the app!
So, invite a friend out to get outside, snag some local coffee, swag up with some Nature’s Playbook merch and together let’s plant some trees!
Encinitas Street Faire: 4/27–28
Encinitas is one of our favorite cities in SoCal. You’ll find the most genuine beach vibe and some amazing local spots! To top it off, this weekend is the Encinitas Street Faire, where you can stroll downtown to see all sorts of local vendors, including Nature’s Playbook!
Here’s our suggested itinerary:

Once you stroll through the fair and get your Nature’s Playbook merch, check out these Meditation Gardens for a peaceful and wholesome time
Watch the sunset at Swami’s beach!
Uncharted Waters: 5/1
Mission Increase creates solutions to common problems for donors, nonprofits and churches. On May 1st, we get to partner with them to offer a free event in support of Christian Surfers. CS is an epic community of surfers who get together often to catch waves, teach others how to surf, and spread their love for Jesus!
Here is your itinerary for Wednesday, May 1:
Brunch at the Pannikin — An iconic spot off of Leucadia with great coffee, and even better pastries!
Carlsbad Flower Fields — Be sure to explore these beautiful gardens while they are still in bloom!
Strawberry Picking — Only five minutes from the Flower Fields, the Carlsbad Strawberry Company has the freshest strawberries in town, and you get to pick your own!
Head on over to the NextMed Center in Carlsbad for free food, drinks and stories from Christian Surfers!
SoCal Etsy Guild: 5/4
On May 4th, we will be at Mission Valley Mall for the local artisan vendors market! This is a fun time to get outside and shop local. While there, check out these other cool attractions in the area with our suggested itinerary:
Morning walk along San Diego Harbor — visit the Midway and Kissing Sailor Statue!
Head to Westfield Mission Valley to enjoy the outdoor vendor market. If you are looking for lunch, Mendocino Farms is a great family-owned sandwich shop!
Stroll through Balboa Park and plan for dinner at The Prado — another historic staple in San Diego
Carlsbad Village Fair: 5/5
It’s another day in Carlsbad! Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Carlsbad Street Faire with us while taking in the beauty of the surrounding areas.
Start the day with a morning walk at Lake Calavera Preserve with beautiful colors and ample wildlife.
Get your local brew at Vinaka Coffee in Carlsbad Village.
Enjoy the Carlsbad Village Street Faire! Be sure to come say hi at the Nature’s Playbook booth.
