Anxiety? Ask Your Doctor About These Important Tests
Doctor’s offices are inundated with young women with symptoms of anxiety.
Pervasive in women between 35–55 years of age, this condition is almost always accompanied by triggers, hormonal imbalances, traumas, and nutritional deficiencies. Thyroid conditions or adrenal insufficiency are often present. Stomach irregularities, bloating and IBS abound.
Because doctors are thought to focus on a pharmacological solution, they often skip or shorten panels. (There are some insurance considerations there too.) Make sure your doctor is running the following tests:
- Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH), Free T3, Free T4, TPO Abs
- Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH)
- Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin (SHBG)
- Cortisol and Melatonin
- DHEA, Progesterone, Testosterone, Estradiol
- Choline, Magnesium, Omega-3, Zinc, Selenium, Chromium Deficiency Tests
- D and B Vitamin Deficiency Tests
- Iron Deficiency Test
- Heavy Metal Toxins
- Food/Environmental Sensitivities
An irregularity in any one of these will trigger anxiety, sometimes severe. A TSH test alone is not enough. Once you know where to begin, resolve to follow the Ten Tenets of Healing. Commit to heal.
