It felt strange from the beginning. The location was a warehouse closed since the 60’s.

The parked cars looked like small versions of Tesla Cybertrucks, only prettier.

The invitation I received came in a silver envelope addressed to me and stated, “For Addressee Only.” I thought it was strange when it mentioned that it was a “Black Tie Affair.”

Me? I’m not a black-tie kind of guy. In fact, I didn’t even own a tie before today. But, hey, here I was. Nine PM, on the dot.

I showed my invite and walked in.
