At the end of each quarter, we the Naukri.com Technology group, meet for All Hands Meeting. This time it was all virtual due to the current pandemic situation but it was a very successful event with great presence of all the teams. We used Microsoft Teams to connect everyone. In this meeting, we try to acknowledge people and accomplishments of each team, drive alignment around strategy, end goals and priorities; and finally, give a space to ask and answer questions.

A Typical Agenda

New joiners

Our meeting very often starts with welcoming new joiners. We cherish few moments knowing them.

Business updates

And then we move on to Business Updates. A core value in Naukri.com is transparency and with this section, we make sure that everyone is updated and aligned. We go over the key business metrics and highlights from Jobseeker as well as Recruiter side of applications. Putting people first is a big part of our company and our All-Hands meetings are a great moment to acknowledge the hard work and appreciate it.

Product highlights

After that, we move on to Product highlights in which tech leaders share updates about their respective products. It covers Naukri, Naukrigulf and Firstnaukri products and generally includes the following:

  • Key metrics for the quarter
  • Key projects that they worked on
  • Plan for the next quarter

Quality updates

This is followed by updates from Quality Assurance team in which they share highlights on new testing areas, testing & automation frameworks and other initiatives.

Tech initiatives

There is a section on Tech Initiatives which showcases special initiatives taken in the quarter. We acknowledge the awesome work done by each team. Most of the projects in this are self initiated by teams. It gives us immense pride to see how all the teams are constantly focused to achieve the best out of tech. In most of the projects, technology/process upgrade, optimizations and new tech products/features is the primary focus.

Other highlights

Then we move onto other highlights of the quarter. One of the key highlights this time was how we seamlessly transitioned to work from home setup and quickly adopted it without any hindrance to efficiency and productivity. Even the Brown Bag Sessions, Hackathon, Hack Days etc. were all conducted in online mode and saw great participation.

Demo

This is a very interesting segment of the all hands meet, where one innovative & impactful tech product is demoed and feedback from the audience is taken.

Q&A

Finally comes the Q&A session, where engineers can ask questions and get clarity around them from leadership. People can also submit questions anonymously beforehand through IdeaBoard and this time through online chat window as well.

We all look up to the All hands meetings as they bring us together, give us an idea of overall strategy, direction and make us feel proud of our contributions and to be an integral part of the organization. Please let us know in the comments, any ideas, suggestions or best practices we can incorporate to make it even better.
