A bot that writes Medium posts

I could create a bot that would write posts for Medium. It would pull down the content of popular posts and rewrite new posts based on the language and tone.

I know it’s possible. News organizations already use bots to automate some of their content. The concept is straightforward. Feed in a lot of data, give it a template for direction, output new works.

Bonus if I can find a way to completely automate it. Collecting the data, processing and writing the content, and publishing on a schedule.

Whether it would make any sense or not, whether it would be something worth reading, I have no idea. Who cares? It sounds like a fun side project.

The concept as a whole, bots writing more and more of our content, is only going to become more prevalent. Human-based content creation is inefficient compared to software.

It’s another area that will become automated. I’m going to look into getting in on the action.
