Navigators,

As gogoex progresses with the development of the switch to PePoS, including the creation of our unique version of the bech32 address format, we aim to bring you closer to the Private Finance Syndicate. To achieve this, we will be presenting a series of frequently asked questions about the project.

I’ve just heard of the PFS. Can I get a TLDR?

The Private Finance Syndicate (PFS) is a non-profit organization founded by LunarDAO and Navcoin; its aim is to bring different privacy projects together, to see ourselves as collaborators, rather than competitors. Together we want to educate interested people about the need of financial privacy, to help each other out in development/legal/and other questions, overall to act as one voice, in order to be heard. One upcoming part of PFS’ actions will be the quarterly hosted PFS Online Conference, with the first being held at the end of this year.

Is PFS a DAO?

No. Right now it is a loose network between different projects without any ‘DAO’ on the blockchain. That said, important for us is that every project’s voice has the same weight in our organization. I.e. before new member projects are added, there has to be a consensus between the existing members. Every project involved has to give green light before a new member gets accepted.

The PFS mission includes spreading the “cypherpunk and lunarpunk narrative.” Could you provide more insight into these narratives?

To quote a member of our PFS founding partner LunarDAO:

‘The lunarpunk narrative takes the foundation that cypherpunks built and institutes resilience. The philosophy of the cypherpunks are reborn within the lunarpunk imaginarium. Rather than being a reflexive ideology that builds to maintain the current level of freedom one has, lunarpunks build outside the current societal framing. Only then can true freedom be obtained. We focus on new privacy techniques and anonynimity tools to construct digital walls that cannot be penetrated by the most well-funded of adversaries.

The goal of lunarpunks is a focus on group dynamics and interaction. The individual makes up a piece of the group. Lunarpunks focus on confederated systems. Societies that provide mutual protection, much like a distributed peer to peer network.’

What are some specific strategies the PFS is taking to achieve its mission of promoting financial privacy?

Currently we are focusing efforts on the cross-promotion between member projects, in order to present different use cases/technologies to each other communities. Moreover we are trying to get in touch with in PriFi interested journalists, presenting them our idea as a collaborative PriFi network. To further interest among users, we will host the first PFS Online Conference later this year.

How can Navcoin community members get involved with or support the PFS initiatives?

We are always open for any suggestions, both, from the Navcoin community, as well as the communities of other member projects. Currently there is a PriFi knowledge base being built; who wants to contribute in the form of writing content for this, let’s get in touch! We are just strong together, so any help is welcome!

Looking into the future, which other projects would make a great fit for the PFS?

We aim to get a broad range of PriFi projects with different use cases on board, privacy coins, private DEXs, PriFi-ecosystems; any project with active development and the right beliefs/mission is generally speaking welcome to join!

Are there any upcoming events, partnerships, or collaborations that the PFS is particularly excited about?

There are talks with various PriFi projects currently who might join us in our fight for financial privacy. However, to not do the ‘Justin Sun’, we rather don’t want to announce announcements.
