Navigators,

Back in February, we ran a series of polls to vibe check our X community and see where everyone stands on some of the recurring privacy debates. It’s always good to check if the hive mind is still intact.

So here’s how the results played out:

  • The majority agree that all crypto transactions should be private by default — shocker.
  • Overwhelming consensus that open source is the backbone of secure privacy projects. Transparency builds trust etc..
  • Most think privacy should be baked in at the base layer rather than via a Layer 2. Yes, hard to disagree with that.
  • A flawless 100% said decentralized systems are more trustworthy than federated ones. No surprise here..
  • Instead of changing the code, most people want to see the public educated on why using anonymizing tech doesn’t mean having something to hide. Because narrative matters.
  • And lastly, bridging from transparent chains into private ones? Way better than keeping chains isolated from each other.

So all in all, a pretty clear picture of what a Navigator looks like. It’s always good to see that what we’re building the tools that people are actually asking for.

Now for this month’s progress. gogoex wrapped the final updates to the Python bindings for libblsct and is already getting started on the Rust bindings. On top of that, the wallet module got refactored to scale better, switching from per-transaction to a per-output setup.

For Navio Lite, sakdeniz added PWA support across Chrome, Android, and iOS . Take the UI for a spin and see for yourself https://navio-lite.navcommunity.net/.

Looking ahead, this year’s MoneroKon is going down in Prague from June 20th to 22nd. If you’re not familiar, Monero Konferenco (“MoneroKon”) is an annual meeting of privacy advocates, cypherpunks, researchers, and developers and is designed to disseminate scientific and technical results in privacy-enhancing technologies and distributed systems.
And yep — we cooked up a little something for that. Together with Trocador (shoutout for the listing last month), we ran a giveaway: 3 tickets to the conference and $50 in NAV each for 3 lucky winners. The draw’s closed now and congratulations to those who got picked. Let’s see how many punks will get together in Prague.

To wrap this up, headlines.
Monero’s strength during the market’s trip to Hades wasn’t random. When global events turn uncertain, the flight to privacy is real because privacy is utility. And no matter how they try to prevent it, the demand for censorship-resistant money just keeps growing. It doesn’t just go away because an asset gets restricted. Quite the opposite, it’s exactly then that it becomes most sought after.

Then there’s the $1.25M donation from the Ethereum Foundation to Alexey Pertsev. The industry backing one of their own is exactly what you want o see in a sea of scammers and regulations. As Vitalik said it best:

Until next time,
Cheers.
