The event runs from Sept. 9 and will highlight DMV-area entrepreneurs and feature a startup pitch competition.

DC Startup Week is the annual gathering of the startup community in the D.C. area with a weeklong celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship. Navancio will be attending the event to better understand the current startups focusing on social impact, blockchain, AI and IoT.

“DC Startup Week … showcases the very best of what the D.C. innovation community has to offer,” said Rachel Koretsky, lead organizer of DC Startup Week.

Social entrepreneurship is rooted in Navancio’s mission with ties back to the Navajo Nation

Navancio is always looking for ways to champion social innovation by involving ourselves in current programs or by developing new strategies to provide meaningful support — as productive drivers of inclusive economic growth and development for the people of the Navajo Nation.

“We are very interested in looking for entrepreneurs who can solve community-based challenges in areas such as education, food sustainability, healthcare, safety, and environmental sustainability” said Zack Chang, managing director of Navancio.

Native-owned companies should have an important role to play in nurturing and growing small businesses by supporting social entrepreneurship programs. By participating in these events, Navancio will become a keystone of the D.C. startup community. Navancio is exited to work with and learn from the community and help grow the next generation of big ideas.
