Q1. Please tell us about your company and the services you provide.

Oasis Market is an overnight food delivery service that provides healthy and quality foods such as organic products at reasonable prices.

Some members from Woori Consumer Cooperative collaborated to establish Oasis Market to sell eco-friendly, organic, and affordable products. We’re operating about 40 stores as well as our online mall. We streamline distribution as much as possible to sell superior products at reasonable prices. That’s why consumers love us so much.

Part of Oasis Market’s competitiveness comes from the fact that Gaea Soft, which has excellent IT prowess, is its parent company. We’re adopting IT both in our online shopping mall and logistics service to operate the business efficiently.

In the past, organic, eco-friendly fresh foods were regarded as premium products, but Oasis Market is putting efforts to popularize them and make them more accessible to customers.

Q2. Why did you choose NAVER Cloud Platform?

We compared and analyzed domestic and overseas cloud service providers in the early stage of opening our service and decided to use NAVER Cloud Platform.

I think the most important thing for online shopping malls is the stability of the service. We’re providing overnight delivery service, so it must be stable 24 hours a day. That’s why we compared and analyzed not only overseas but also domestic cloud service providers while preparing to open our service. Among the candidates, we decided on NAVER Cloud Platform since it demonstrates not only outstanding stability but also user convenience.

Q3. Which service in NAVER Cloud Platform are you currently using and how did it help you?

We’re using servers, databases, networks, storage, and others that are needed for our service in general.

“Flexibility” is the biggest advantage in configuring infrastructure with a cloud service. We can create or terminate a server simply as needed so that we can operate infrastructure efficiently. For example, when there is a temporary increase in traffic during a promotion, you can add servers quickly to your cloud to increase available ranges. We also save costs because the extended server can be terminated once the promotion ends. Furthermore, we enjoyed the advantage of applying and testing new environments and techniques easily. We greatly appreciate the flexibility and convenience of configuring infrastructure.

Q4. What are the distinctive features or advantages of NAVER Cloud Platform?

Stability and prompt responses.

As I mentioned earlier, we operate our service 24/7, so the service can’t be stopped. In this regard, we had a very satisfying experience thanks to NAVER Cloud Platform’s prompt response. We had a minor issue in our database a while ago, and the person in charge responded swiftly. Because of that, we minimized downtime.

Q5. What type of services do you want to provide using NAVER Cloud Platform in the future?

We want to build services through which we can promptly respond to customers, just like AI call centers, by using various products of NAVER Cloud Platform.

I predict non-contact services will be more popular in the future. The purchasing demand for online food distribution increased a lot recently due to the pandemic, and I think this trend will continue. So, we hope we can deliver more value than just delivering products in this non-contact era. I think we need a system where we can respond to customers more quickly by utilizing technologies such as AI chatbots or AI call centers.

I also believe that we’ll have plenty of opportunities to utilize cloud for our company internally as well. If we also adopt various cloud technologies in the logistics system, I think we can deliver fresher products to consumers at lower prices. Thus, if we improve the logistics system efficiently based on IT, in these ways, I believe we can get closer to our goal of popularizing organic products.
