The Good:

  1. Beginning of the year in the campus was very different for us, as we were away from our home celebrating our first new year in NavGurukul, we welcomed the new year with lots of unity and love. On new year eve, we set up a bonfire and with music we enjoyed the night. All the things were arranged by the students, they took woods for a bonfire. We all together with cooked food for all of us then we ate it together. We made a cake and it was very colorful and this year we want every student of NavGurukul to be flying with colorful achievements.

2. We introduced energizers in the routine, as Students were so involved in their studies and fulfilling their responsibilities, in that they forgot to give some time to themselves, so this energizer helps us to take a break and refresh ourselves from all the things happening around us.

3. After dedicating most of the time to studies and with lots of hard work many students completed their basic of python from Saral. Students got to know their importance towards studies and how the study will help them for their future.

4. Kamini di gave us some knowledge about the basic things regarding programming, how it works and all. She asked randomly a few questions from the students and some of the students were not able to give the answer because they thought that she will ask a hard question but she asked a simple question. After finishing the question session, she gave us some suggestion for the interviews.

5. In NavGurukul we introduced the tribe theme and we have three tribes APJ tribe, Razia Sultan tribe, and Neerja tribe, these were introduced because we were 50 of them in the campus and we were not able to bond with each and everyone as we are in a huge number so divided into smaller groups called the tribes and try to understand and build bond within the group members.

6. Four students started working on Nodejs and Eight students started working on Reactjs. This is a big step for us because when they will get knowledge about their field then they will guide us. If those students will get a job then we will have examples to tell our parents.

7. We have added a new club to our activity which is the swimming club. From this, we are learning swimming and with this, we are also learning “How can we come out of our fear step by step?”

8. Flora and Siddarth are two most in interesting and fun-loving volunteers who came here and taught us how to improve upon our self-confidence and self-development. The activities they conducted were very different from all the other activities, we learned many things from them how to be positive and handle all the things.

9. This month was very interesting for us because the Hackathon was related to making something which will help girls to know the reality of menstruation. We did Hackathon with the help of a volunteer her name is Silvana. She is a social worker mainly she works on menstruation. She took sessions with us related to menstruation in which she shared her experience with us. According to her menstruation period is like a winter season in which we don’t want to do anything just we want to think and that thinking is very deep.
So, after the session, we all made website and chatbot which is related to menstruation. That was our first big Hackathon.

10. Every student is a part of the cleaning team as everyone gets their chance to clean the campus no matter either general body or council members, everyone, as to involve in contributing their part in keeping the campus clean.

11. One more 4-day hackathon was conducted in the campus the react js and node js students did the hackathon together and python students had different tasks for the hackathon. It was a long hackathon where this 4 days the studies were the main priority for all and were eagerly completing the tasks given to them.

12. A volunteer from Enable India came to our campus and conducted a session, we shaped our emotions into clay models so that we can express our feelings through the model and tell about our emotions and understand the other emotions of other people too.

13. This month we saw two inspirational movies “Chak de India” and ‘Chiller Party’, which inspired us and made us think that we can do a lot more things if we want to do so.

14. Many girls are learning swimming, in presence of Abhishek swimming club is going on and the required safety measures like life jacket are taken care of.

The Bad:

1. English activity is not happening properly most of the time students are doing the only tech-related things only.

2. Hygiene is not maintained on the campus much we need to take more measures to clean the kitchen and our campus.

3.Too much food wastage in the campus and many days we had to manage because of the items that were lacking in the kitchen.

The Ugly:

1. Students are facing difficulty in studying as there is no internet connection yet, many of the works and studies because of internet issues. It is a major problem so it needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.

2. Many students have gone home for many issues other issues like exams, personal reasons so at present on campus there are only 30 girls in 56 girls total.
