NDC Election 2023 is Now LIVE! 🚀
Hello, NEAR Digital Collective community! We’re ecstatic to announce that the NDC elections are LIVE! This is a momentous moment to cast a vote and make your voice heard on the future trajectory of our ecosystem. Your voice, your vote!
📅 Timeline
- Nomination Period: Already Concluded.
- Voting Period: September 8th to September 22nd. Mark these dates!
- Cool Down Period: Till Sept 30th
- Results Announcement: Stay tuned after the cool down for the official unveiling of our newly elected torchbearers.
🔑 Key Things to Know
- 29 Votes — Distributed Across Houses:
- House of Merit (HoM): 15 votes
- Council of Advisors (CoA): 7 votes
- Transparency Commission (TC): 7 votes
Voters receive a vote for every seat in a house. They may cast votes for just preferred candidates or every seat in a house.
2. Votes Cast are Final: Once votes are cast for a house, they are final and can not be changed. Familiarize yourself with the candidates and their vision before making your selections.
3. Bond Requirement for Voting: Every voter must place a bond in NEAR and, depending on voter status, a higher or lower NEAR bond will be needed. This bond showcases your commitment to an authentic election process and emphasizes adherence to our election standards. More on this below.
Verified Voter Criteria
A Verified Voter:
- Is human-confirmed, AND
- Had an account before APR 1 ’23 AND had 50 transactions or greater, OR
- Possesses one or more SBTs demonstrating human activity (qualifying SBTs include either NDC Contributor SBT and OG SBT), OR
- Successfully appealed their UnVerified status with the Election Integrity Council by either participating in a video call OR getting KYC and sharing it with the EIC
- Bond Requirement: Deposit a 3 NEAR bond to showcase commitment. Any breach of the fair voting policyresults in bond forfeiture.
Note: The whitelist of verified voters will be regularly updated leading up to the election.
FYI: The NDC Contributor SBT has been airdropped to anyone who made a contribution to NDC, performed KYC with NF and received a bounty from the GWG. The OG SBT was given to people who applied to and was approved as an OG by the OG Council.
UnVerified Voter Criteria
An UnVerified Voter:
- Is human-confirmed, AND
- Created an account after APR 1 ’23 OR had less than 50 transactions in a newer account, AND
- Does not have any approved SBTs indicating significant human activity.
For voting eligibility, an UnVerified voter must choose one:
- PREFERRED (Instant) — 300 NEAR Bond: Gain immediate voting rights. Any fair voting policy breach will forfeit the bond.
- RECOMMENDED (1–3 days) — Complete KYC: Expedite funding requests or approved gigs by completing the KYC. Complete NDC KYC.
- LIMITED (3+ Days) — EIC Engagement: Opt for a video call to reconfirm identity.
⚠️ Please note due to time and resource constraints, we recommend the 300N BOND or KYC. EIC re-verification might not guarantee verification before the election concludes.
