The NEAR Digital Collective launches I-AM-HUMAN V1
Voting is at the core of what makes decentralization work and I-AM-HUMAN is here to ensure that each person can only vote once. I-AM-HUMAN is built by the NEAR Digital Collective, a decentralized, grassroots Web3 community that was created to shape a new form of governance that utilizes validated human voting, integral to the fairness of elections.
Registration with I-AM-HUMAN allows the NDC to support voting integrity. With elections close on the horizon, the NDC is eager to demonstrate its commitment to fair governance and an equal playing field for all. I-AM-HUMAN paves the way for the NDC to revolutionize the way individual personhood can be verified on the NEAR blockchain and with this new phase, the NDC aims to welcome 1,000 verified individuals into our community that will be aided by an onboarding competition (details below).
Soul Bound Tokens
I-AM-HUMAN allows users to easily mint “Soul Bound Tokens” using Face Verification, which we achieve through a partnership with Fractal, a trusted Web3 identity solution provider that has a track record of onboarding nearly 1 million users across over 200 projects. Fractal offers a comprehensive suite of open-source identity solutions, including the Oauth API, Credential API, and DID registry.

Key Features
I-AM-HUMAN V1 comes with a host of important new and updated features including:
- Seamless Integration: We are able to verify users’ existing Fractal accounts with Fractal’s Oauth API. If a user has previously completed KYC, they will be issued FV SBT. If a user hasn’t already completed KYC, they can receive their FV SBT through simple Face Verification.
- Uniqueness Assurance: Fractal maintains a globally unique registry that is scheduled to be available on the NEAR blockchain later this year. Stay posted for updates.
- Enhanced User Privacy: IAH will never store or sell your personally identifiable information (PII). All PII is housed with Fractal, an organization compliant with data and regulatory standards like GDPR and we provide users with the ability to request the deletion of their data from both IAH and Fractal.
- Strengthened Partnership: We have established a robust Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Fractal, ensuring reliable and seamless collaboration in order to provide the highest level of service to our users.
- Strengthened Proof of Humanity: To further fortify the proof of humanity, we have implemented a “captcha” requirement before minting SBTs, offering an additional layer of security and authenticity.
- Increased Availability: IAH is available to any project in the NEAR Ecosystem.

In response to community requests, we are actively working on creating and revising our comprehensive documentation that outlines how partners can leverage SBT gating. This will empower our partners to harness the benefits of our proof-of-personhood solution and unlock exciting opportunities within their own ecosystems.
