What is NEAR Protocol Philippines, you might ask?

Well, NEAR Protocol Philippines is just a geographic community, although the protocol’s scope has no border.

Okay, I shall stop from there. It can be challenging to wrap your head around this concept, because when it is defined in a nutshell, it can still sound too technical.

Notice how Crunchbase, a globally-recognized business information site, defined NEAR Protocol as an organization: “NEAR Protocol is a blockchain designed to provide the performance and UX to get to mainstream adoption of decentralized applications.”

Blockchain, UX, Applications, decentralized. What do all of these terms mean? It can still be puzzling. While thinking of the most familiar metaphor that I can include here, we still found it challenging on how to convey this seemingly esoteric concept to the general public and and articulate its value to the day-to-day affairs.

Well, let us use an illustration from a historical perspective. The French Revolution. The people of France was sick and tired of the system under their king and few nobles that they wanted to create a system that benefits the common people.

Because of that old structure, the monarchy, the resources were only enjoyed by the few on top, but the burden was on the majority of people. The common people were heavily taxed while the ruling few indulged themselves in lavish lifestyles.

Presently, in general, few big companies and the government control many aspects of the system: from financial, to technological. The people are heavily “taxed” by paying recurring subscriptions for services by the big companies. Data centers and mobile applications are owned by companies and unless you pay their service, you won’t be able to enjoy the service fully.

NEAR Protocol is somewhat similar. Blockchain, decentralized applications, etc. are trying to dissolve the centralized “middleman” and distribute the access and privilege to the masses. Currently, the middleman gets fattened, because virtually all transactions pass through him.

You get the point? If still not, stick around as we put out more links and content for you to comprehend this technology looming on the horizon that may be able to affect virtually all aspects of our lives, from finance to healthcare, from contracts to royalties.

Stay tuned.
