Endlesss Brings Live Music Collaboration to NEAR
NEAR is thrilled to announce that Endlesss, a live collaborative music creation platform, is coming to NEAR. Launched back in March 2020, Endlesss is partnering with NEAR to build a next generation digital collectible marketplace for music created in its ecosystem.
Together, NEAR and Endlesss plan to bring the multiplayer dynamics of play-to-earn games like Axie Infinity to Web3 social creativity.
How Endlesss is Transforming Music Creation
Endlesss’ goal is to turn music creation from a typically complex, solo production process into a collaborative social experience, giving it a feel that is more like playing a multiplayer game than operating a complicated Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). But the results are no less impressive than making music in a DAW.
Grammy-winning artists like Imogen Heap have already collaborated with fans to create Billboard-grade music on Endlesss. The platform is also currently playing host to other notable artists, including Flux Pavilion, BT, and Broken Social Scene.
Today, Endlesss serves over 130,000 creators who’ve made more than 5 million unique “rifffs”—the platform’s name for original, short-form songs created by multiple “jammer” (music creators). Jammers gather in “jams” to create and remix rifffs in an endless musical conversation, which builds an ever-growing, fully-attributed archive of creativity as the jam progresses.
A Marketplace of Mixtape Collectibles
Set to launch in mid-2022, Endlesss’ collectibles marketplace will allow collectors to mint NFTs and collect rifffs from Endlesss jams to assemble unique, personalised “mixtapes”. Collectors will be able to feature mixtapes on their profile, which will double as a listening destination and a secondary marketplace.
Endlesss is excited to be giving those who create magic on their platform an opportunity to realize its value. This will free users up to deepen their commitment to the pursuit of magic, while intrepid collectors will have an opportunity to curate and promote the best of what happens on Endlesss.
Today, NFT marketplaces are shop fronts for work created using mostly offline tools like DAWs (Ableton, Logic), Adobe Creative Cloud, Cinema4D, and other software. Launching a successful NFT project involves a monumental effort to coordinate community-building, storytelling, and marketing to drive the project’s value, but none of this activity is captured in an NFT’s smart contract. Endlesss believes a huge opportunity exists in solving this problem and defining a new category of Web3 social creativity where creation, collaboration, and collection take place in a seamless, streamlined journey.
