Liquality, a multi-chain wallet with built-in atomic swap functionality, has officially launched on NEAR Protocol. As one of the leading peer to peer exchange networks, Liquality’s launch on NEAR brings a number of new features to the NEAR Ecosystem including multi-chain atomic swaps as well as a new wallet that natively supports $NEAR.

Liquality has differentiated itself as an atomic swap juggernaut for both the scope of services it offers, as well as the underlying principles grounding the network’s development.

Cross-Chain Atomic Swaps Natively Integrated with the NEAR Account Model

The NEAR is integrating with the Liquality Multi-Chain Wallet

As a browser extension wallet, Liquality allows users to Swap, Hold, Send, and Receive Tokens across chains (NEAR, BTC, ETH, RSK).

For NEAR Protocol, Liquality has natively built NEAR atomic swaps, to become a unique point of contact for new users entering the NEAR Ecosystem:

Within the Liquality Wallet Users can add and fund a NEAR Account ID with inbuilt support similar to the NEAR Wallet. Using Liquality’s Hash Time Locked Contracts, NEAR users can quickly and easily swap for native assets across BTC, ETH, and RSK from NEAR (including DAI and USDC).

Users will be able to quickly swap across BTC, ETH, RSK, DAI, USDC, and NEAR

Thanks to prices set by the Liquality-operated Market Maker and Market Maker Bots available 24/7 for making trades, users can expect to have instant access to cross-chain atomic swaps.

NEAR Protocol’s Kendall Cole added the following about the native launch of Liquality on NEAR:

“Solutions like Liquality are exactly the type of service that we believe have a native home on NEAR Protocol. Not only is Liquality an exceptional project with a world-class team, but it also embodies the same values that NEAR Protocol has been built around: Open, Permissionless, Non-Custodial, and User-Friendly Innovation. The NEAR community can look forward to instant cross-chain atomic swaps through Liquality going forward.”

For all of these unique features, Liquality’s native launch on NEAR will likely make the Liquality Wallet one of the easiest ways to onboard new users to NEAR Protocol, as well as one of the best wallet experiences for using dapps on NEAR: With Liquality users will not need to have NEAR tokens in advance of creating a NEAR Wallet.

Liquality’s Development on NEAR Accelerates the Development of the Open Web

NEAR’s Mission is to accelerate the development of the open web.

“Liquality is a truly peer to peer exchange network. We enable two people that might not know or trust each other to exchange value in a simple, easy, free, non-custodial, and completely trustless way. Users can exchange value across multiple chains, without any counterparty risk using software that is entirely open source.”

— Simon Lapscher, Co-Founder of Liquality

Notably, Liquality’s launch on NEAR extends beyond the technical realm of cross-chain atomic swaps. As a simple, easy to use, free, non-custodial and completely trustless mechanism of exchange, Liquality’s suite of products fully embody the values and mindset of NEAR Protocol.

  • All Code is Open Source.
  • Your Funds, Your Keys.
  • Browser-Based Access — No Download Required.
  • Swap Native Assets.
  • Guaranteed Swaps or Fully Refunded.

Altogether, the launch of Liquality on NEAR Protocol is a huge step forward in building an Open Web that is accessible, affordable, user-first, and censorship-resistant. To get started with Liquality, NEAR users can download the wallet today, follow them on Twitter, or join their Discord community.

Future Roadmap: “Accelerating” NEAR’s Rainbow Bridge

Liquality currently focuses on supporting native assets of its supported blockchains, but in the future it could service the exchange of bridged assets on NEAR with other native assets from other chains.

While Liquality initially focuses on supporting native assets of its supported blockchains, it could also be extended to servicing the exchange of bridged assets on NEAR with other native assets from other chains. A good example would be swapping nDAI (bridged DAI token on NEAR) with DAI (ERC20 token token on ETH). While NEAR’s Rainbow Bridge allows the cross chain transfer of assets in a secure and trustless way, it does take about 6 minutes for assets to transfer from ETH to NEAR and several hours for assets to transfer from NEAR to ETH. Using Liquaility, users can now enjoy “accelerated” swapping of nDAI and DAI in about 2 minutes, significantly improving the user experience of interoperability on NEAR. In other words, Liquality could be used for faster cross-chain transfer of bridged assets in smaller denominations, whereas the Rainbow Bridge is better suited for larger settlement in bulk.
