Merchants of NEAR Weekly Trading Contest:
Dinner with Candlesticks
The Merchants of NEAR Guild is excited to announce the launch of the weekly Merchants Trading Contest for the $NEAR Ecosystem!
Here is how the contest works: prospective traders must fill out the new form by the end of Sunday each week to be entered. The form consists of:
- Telegram Handle
- Price prediction of NEAR for midnight UTC of the following Sunday,
- One technical analysis chart/graph
- A few sentences explaining what you see and why you anticipate your predicated price
- Your NEAR.wallet address for potential rewards.
Each participant must then post their TA price prediction and their analysis onto the Telegram group. Reasoning behind this is two fold:
- This encourages community engagement with discussions and allows people to get different viewpoints. It also helps to improve your own analysis by understanding others TA.
- This ensures the competition is fair and equitable. You cannot gain an advantage by predicting $0.01 lower than the current lowest prediction or $0.01 higher than current the highest prediction to try to get closest.
The three closest price predictions to the coinmarketcap.com price of NEAR at midnight Sunday UTC will be rewarded. There will be a running point system for how accurate you are to the actual price, i.e within +/-3%, +/-5%. There will also be a running leaderboard with statistics and potential for monthly prizes. Main contest will launch the following week, from 6/20–6/26, with a pilot program launching from 6/13–6/19.
Pilot Program:
For the week of 6/13–6/19, there will be a pilot program where everyone who submits the form with TA and posts to the TG group will earn 1 NEAR. We will post educational content on how to start creating your own TA so fear not for beginners!

- Fill out new form with pertinent information: TG, wallet address, price prediction, TA and analysis before each Monday
- Post TA and analysis in TG group
- Weekly competition will end at midnight Sunday, then new weekly competition will begin
- Weekly competition will begin 6/20, pilot program will be from 6/13–6/19 with everyone eligible to earn NEAR
- Weekly and monthly leaderboards based on accuracy, potential to earn rewards and be featured
This is a fun competition to generate community interest and allow fellow merchants to earn NEAR. Everyone has different levels of technical analysis expertise. Ridicule of others’ analysis will not be tolerated; we are all here to learn and, in the process, reach our personal moons.
