NEAR Foundation supports Atlantis World with a grant to build a home for the NEAR ecosystem in the metaverse!

We’re excited to announce that the NEAR Foundation has supported Atlantis World with a grant to build a home, hub and showcase for the NEAR ecosystem in the metaverse!
We’ll work closely with NEAR to design, build and launch a NEAR HQ inside of Atlantis World. Here, new users will be able to learn about the ecosystem and be guided through the process of connecting to the Aurora RPC on Metamask by non-player characters in-game!
Once users have been onboarded into the ecosystem, they’ll be guided through the process of using NEAR apps in a totally gamified way.
Inside of Atlantis, we integrate Web3 apps in a novel way whereby DAO clubhouses (complete with existing frameworks, tooling + voting mechanics), digital banks (DeFi protocols), DEXs and NFT marketplaces exist inside of metaverse in a gamified way.
Soon, we’ll also launch frameworks so that any developer can build their protocol or app into Atlantis World, as well as customisability features for creators.
We’ll leverage these experiences to build efficient, interactive and incentivised onboarding pipelines. In turn, growing the NEAR ecosystem together with our other partners from across Web3, enabling network effects for all parties involved.
Atlantis World core users, as well as the users of other chains / ecosystems, DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, DAOs and communities that we’ve onboarded, will be encouraged to explore the NEAR ecosystem inside of Atlantis World and begin interacting with ecosystem apps.
We foresee that our novel Learn2Earn MMORPG-style learning quests will become a core onboarding framework for Web3, since we’re expanding on the proof of concept layer of products like Rabbithole.
Users will eventually have the opportunity to earn tokens for interacting with Web3 apps inside of Atlantis World. In the case of NEAR, users would for example be incentivised to visit a money exchange building and swap assets using Ref Finance or another ecosystem app in a totally gamified way, and be guided through that learning process by an in-game NPC.
We’ll launch and continue to launch a number of NEAR powered apps from across the Web3 stack inside of Atlantis. From DeFi banks to NFT marketplaces and token-gated, audio chat enabled clubhouses with integrations like DAO voting, the NEAR family of builders, apps and users will finally find their home in the metaverse. 🚀 ❤️
Whilst we’ll use the Aurora EVM to begin with, so as to ensure a seamless experience for users inside of Atlantis World Alpha (simple, one-wallet network switching using Metamask), the end game we envision is a fully-fledged NEAR Nation in the metaverse with NEAR wallet by default as well as land / game items tokenized with Web3 apps running on the NEAR L1.
We see NEAR as founding partners on our mission to:

- Onboard the next 1B users into Web3 by creating a gamified onboarding framework inside of metaverse.
