NEAR x The Graph

NEAR is thrilled to announce its beta integration with The Graph, the indexing and query layer for the decentralized web.

The NEAR integration enables developers to build subgraphs on the NEAR network using The Graph, allowing web3 infrastructure to support even more dapps.

Once the integration is complete, NEAR will be decentralized at the indexing and query layer.

“We started NEAR with the goal of enabling more creators to build on blockchain and to create a more innovative and equitable web infrastructure,” said Erik Trautman, CEO of NEAR Foundation. “Integrating with The Graph is an important milestone for NEAR as we continue to eliminate barriers for developers working toward a decentralized web.”

This major milestone allows developers to build subgraphs on NEAR’s expansive network using The Graph. NEAR developers can now integrate these projects seamlessly with The Graph, making dapps more resilient in the decentralized web3 ecosystem.

“We’re excited about this integration with NEAR as we continue to build out The Graph’s network to support a decentralized future,” said Eva Beylin, Director at The Graph Foundation. “As we build towards web3, we’re thinking about ways to make the decentralized ecosystem as strong and united as possible, and this integration is an important step forward for developers who can now more easily choose hosted service chains that best suit their needs.”

NEAR and The Graph both aim to build the infrastructure needed to construct a healthy and secure decentralized web. Developers building towards this future have historically been limited by the lack of inter-connectivity in web3. As more developers move to web3, having developer-friendly infrastructure is essential. This integration with NEAR allows developers greater access to data, enabling a more open data economy.

NEAR has grown to become a critical component of web3 infrastructure, seeing an average number of daily transactions rise to 300k and user numbers surpass 1.2 million in the last few months. NEAR has also announced a massive funding programme of $800 million to help accelerate Web 3 adoption.

Integration with The Graph is just the latest step NEAR has taken in expanding its platform and encouraging development on the decentralized web.

“NEAR is excited to work with The Graph ecosystem as both groups build out the infrastructure needed for a more equitable and fair web,’’ said Illia Polosukhin, Co-Founder of NEAR. “The Graph enables NEAR developers to build decentralized applications faster as it provides essential tools to build query-required representations of blockchain data.”
