Open Discussion hosted by 4NTS Guild: Staking and collateral tokens the legos for DeFi.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) plays an increasingly important role in the NEAR ecosystem with the adoption of classic financial operations such as borrowing, lending, and various derivative issuance, as well as instruments with stable value(stablecoins)creation which are used as collateral for most of the financial services offered by DeFi protocols.
DeFi is in the early stages in NEAR, and the overall efficiency and variety of decentralized services are low compared to other Layer 1 protocols. However, the programmable and decentralized nature of such services provides the potential for massive growth in the coming years. Which is what we will be discussing during the panel discussion.
Discuss Staking roadmap for NEAR Protocol
One of the most important themes is the upcoming updates to the staking mechanism of NEAR Protocol. Here is the documentation regarding Staking on NEAR. Will be interesting to hear what Blaze from Open Shards Alliance has to say about the economics for validators and Jane Wang from NEAR Core team will discuss what are the upcoming activities around increasing validator nodes on the NEAR Protocol.

We will discuss the benefits of liquid staking and how it will play a role in increasing decentralization of the network, plus making it easy for stakers to participate in DeFi platforms through the minting of stNEAR.
