TL;DR

  • Paras is envisioned to be the solution to aging traditional collectible cards by building on NEAR and utilizing IPFS/Filecoin.
  • Paras validates and opens ownership for everyone through blockchain with fast and inexpensive transactions.
  • Paras is different from other marketplaces as the platform focuses on creating crypto-native collections that can be diversified onto a bigger medium.
  • Krypterra, FiboFace, Nearmon, & Immortal Flame series are only a few projects in Paras that have public appeal by using core strengths of Paras.
  • The Paras NFT offering is coming soon. Paras will launch three exclusive NFTs: The Founders, The First Men, and The Firstborn.
The Paras Marketplace

Trading cards have been bulletproof and long lasting since they were introduced back in the 80s. At Paras, the guiding vision of their NFT collectable platform is that every single physical art form needs to be stored and digitized to keep it future-proof. Paras, an all-in-one Digital Art Card marketplace, is eager to diversify assets into digital art cards. By applying a 64x89 ratio, we want to make it as faithful to the original style of a trading card as possible. Because we are building the platform on NEAR and IPFS/Filecoin, we are able to track the ownership of every single collectible on our platform.

Through these solutions, Paras validates ownership and gives access to every purchase and mint to the public. Running on top of NEAR, an immensely scalable blockchain, Paras offers very cheap and fast transactions for users. Unlike other marketplaces, Paras is putting collections forward instead of a single art release. As they stated:

“We believe that by collecting collectibles (digital art cards), we not only attract crypto collectors, but also conventional trading card collectors. With the current artists we have, we are confident that we can capture the essence and excitement of owning a collectors set of cards. We also look to increase the card’s value via gamification by including background stories or lore as we believe that visuals can be enhanced through this approach.”

Paras is an NFT marketplace that focuses on digital card collectibles. As a platform that is set to thrive by bringing conventional collectibles to the crypto space. Paras differentiates itself in 3 key ways:

1. Future of Card Collectibles

Unlike a traditional trading card, Digital Art Cards last longer and are always in their original mint condition. For collectors, Paras takes out the maintenance burden for their collectibles. As Paras explains:

“We ensure that their collectibles will not wear out or get damaged over time. We remove barriers to access by giving artists and collectors access to the digital collectables market. With the help of NEAR, we manage to reduce the cost for artists to sell their cards, unlike conventional card collectibles.”

2. Only Card Collectibles

The new community publications feature help artists tell the story of their digital card collections.

From its inception, Paras chose to develop the Digital Art Card vertical as a long-term platform for future artists, gamers, and creatives: “We want our artists to create a collection; a set of cards under a theme or united by lore.”

By using this method, the Digital Art Cards in Paras are rich with stories to read and backgrounds to discover by collectors. Although Paras may appear to restrict artists through ratios for card size, they stand firm that a card is the best medium for our long-term goal. With this medium, Paras has managed to pursue additional features that can support the collections for artists, for example, to develop a booster pack and card mini-games.

3. Building Crypto-native IP

“As we witness the rise of traditional cards through conventional methods, we believe that building original and crypto-native IP is possible in Paras.”

By utilizing this approach, the development of collections in Paras is immense and massive. Paras encourages artists to start small, but keep developing their IP to larger mediums. Collections also enable Paras artists to pivot their art cards to bigger projects over time e.g games, novels, comics, etc.

In this context, Paras’ key differences are a core strength as of right now some of the biggest projects in Paras are utilizing these key differences. All of the projects are Crypto-native IP. Developed and nurtured on the Paras platform these projects are:

Krypterra by Monztre

Krypterra: Land of Krypto monsters is one of the infamous projects in Paras. Ever since the launch of the series, Krypterra records 500$N (~$3000) in volume. Krypterra utilizes the collection feature to sell the monsters in a form of booster packs. Each purchase of the booster makes the buyer eligible to participate in the tournament. Krypterra builds its collection to be a card hunting game.

FiboFace by Ivtanart

FiboFace is a series of 32 collectible cards that are unique from one another and released in episodic form. There is only 1 supply of each released card making it extremely rare. Each release of FiboFace will be sold out in 97 seconds. This format can be improved with future features like bidding.

Nearmon by Starpause

Nearmon is the newest series on Paras since it was launched during the Paras Easter event. Nearmon series sold 80 cards in a week. The catch of the series is the buyer is waiting for the time their purchased eggs to hatch. All the unclaimed cards will be burned which makes the series more special.

Immortal Flame series by Fetus-Squid

Fetus-Squid is one of our earliest artists who started the first big project in Paras called the Immortal Flame series. The artist is creating the art as a means to fund the expansion of the project into a novel series. Not only is the visual top-notch, but the story also enriches the collections. The fetus-Squid sold 231 cards from the collections he created and gained 1500$NEAR (~$9000).
