First PoD Governance Vote Has Ended with the Nebulas Awareness Development & Content Creation Plan receiving 100% support!
The first voting cycle via PoD governance on the Nebulas testnet has ended. The voting period lasted from March 10th to March 12th, Beijing time. In total, 49 test nodes had the opportunity to vote for numerous proposals including updating PoD penalty rules, the formation of a community technical committee and other important proposals, Of the 49 nodes, xxx nodes participated in the voting with a voting rate of 85.7% and the proposals that received 50% or more “Support” rate have been approved.
The results of the governance period is as follows:
NIP199 — PoD Block Penalty Rule Adjustment Proposal, by: MarkAU
Result: Approved | Support: 22, Oppose: 17, Abstain: 3 | Final approval rate 52.88%
With a support rate greater than 50%, proposals for revised penalty rules will be launched in the near future at go.nebulas.io, the community collaboration platform.
NIP200 — NAX-based Nebulas Awareness Development & Content Creation Plan by: dustin
Result: Approved | Support: 42, Oppose: 0, Abstain: 0 | Final approval rate 100.00%
With a support rate greater than 50%, the proposal creator, dustin will organize the detailed implementation steps, launch the project on GoNebulas and implement this proposal. Since this proposal involves the operation of multiple platforms (twitter, medium, etc.), it can be split into project proposals if necessary.
NIP204 — Launch NAS nano Wallet Currency Voting, Node Benefit Distribution can be accounted and managed through NRC20, by: Ravin
Result: Approved | Support: 27, Oppose: 7, Abstain: 8 | Final approval rate 64.29%
With a support rate greater than 50%, this proposal will become a project on GoNebulas. Ravin will detail the specific implementation steps of MRH2. NAS nano pro’s in-app voting (including currency voting, node voting) is included in the next version of the development plan.
NIP205 — New proposal from the Technical Committee by: smalloranges
Result: Approved | Support: 40, Oppose: 0, Abstain: 1 | Final approval rate 97.56%
With a support rate greater than 50%, the Technical Committee’s registration process will be opened to all immediately. The application form may be completed for further review at: https://nebulas.typeform.com/to/NwzQRC
The first PoD governance vote on the mainnet will be held at the end of the first governance cycle which is expected to occur at the end of April 2020.
About the new Nebulas mainnet
The new mainnet will add the Proof of Devotion (PoD) mechanism which is the most important upgrade since Nebulas NOVA. PoD is one of the core mechanisms of the Nebulas blockchain and is one of the many unique features when compared with other blockchain projects. This novel consensus mechanism is built on the basis of the contribution size of the community. The mechanism comprises two parts:
Consensus mechanism: Once PoD goes live, the Nebulas blockchain will be fully decentralized relying on the community for node operation.
Governance mechanism: The consensus nodes which produce the most blocks will be chosen to be governance nodes and will decide if proposals submitted on Go Nebulas will be approved and become active projects. All governance votes will utilize on-chain voting.
