LAST WEEK’S News and Reports

We announced the winners of the first month of the Nebulas Incentive Program on June 6th, Beijing time. The monthly developer award was won by a game app called Cell Evolution. Congratulations to our first Monthly Developer Champion for winning an additional 20,000 NAS!

For the monthly referrer awards, we ranked the accounts who successfully brought the most effective developers to the Nebulas program. One referral was counted for each invited developer who went on to build something on the Nebulas blockchain. On June 4th, 2018, Beijing time, we announced the top-6 referrers, and awarded one first prize, two second prizes and three third prizes.

The first prize for the monthly referrer awards went to an account named DappReview, who will share 10000 NAS. The four weeks of data shows this referrer invited an impressive 67 effective developers to the Nebulas platform.

On June 7, Beijing time, we released news that the referral component of the Nebulas Incentive Program would introduce Super Contributors, with the update taking place on June 10, 2018.

Super Contributors are an expansion of the Incentive Program’s referral plan. Now, in addition to effective develop referral rewards, we will distribute rewards to the top-20 accounts who invite the most people, including developers and non-developers, to simply register on Nebulas.

Super Contributors will share a prize of additional10,000 NAS, distributed proportionally according to the number of people they each invited, and will also be able to vote on the best dapps submitted each week and month to the Incentive Program.

All community members, influencers, exchanges, industry media, and other individuals and organizations are invited to participate in the new Super Contributor program.

The Global Blockchain Leaders Summit was held on June 6, Beijing time, at the Hangzhou Yunqi Town International Convention and Exhibition Center. The summit announced the top blockchain projects of 2018 annual via its “rivers and lakes” list. Nebulas won the Best Market Performance Award on the list of “GBLS blockchain rivers and lakes”.

The GBLS Summit was organized by the People’s Government of Xihu District of Hangzhou Municipality and the GBLS Organizing Committee, and co-organized by the Zhejiang Financial Technology Association and other organizations. It is committed to building a global blockchain industry and network that spans blockchain academics, technical and industrial leaders, and venture capital, government, and other industry dimensions.

Last week, Tech in Asia published an exclusive interview with the Nebulas co-founder Aero Wang in an article titled: These ex-Ant Financial execs are building a Google for the blockchain world”.

The article praised Nebulas’ efforts, and described the design goals and core technical features of the Nebulas blockchain. Aero talked about his own previous entrepreneurial experience, how he first got involved with the blockchain space, and his visions for Nebulas.

On June 7th from 20:00 to 21:00, Beijing time, Nebulas co-founder Robin Zhong made guest televised appearance on a live stream on WeChat. In the broadcast, Robin shared his thinking about the Nebulas blockchain and its suitability for developers. One of his key arguments is that the future of public chain competition is mainly the competition of developers, and therefore developer incentives will become a popular trend of the public chain.

On the afternoon of June 10th, Beijing time, an event called “The Future of Blockchain” was held at Beijing Garage coffee — a famous venue for entrepreneurship in China — and hosted by Beep Beep (哔哔) News. Nebulas co-founder Aero gave a speech that touched upon the hard work needed in the blockchain space. Aero advocated believing in technology, believing in science, and doing things in a practical way, rather than deifying things. Moreover, the blockchain world is not a perpetual motive, and all progress is not coming out of thin air, nor is it eternal. Therefore, this is the reason why we must work hard.

Several industry leaders, including Cao Yin from Energy Blockchain Labs, Zhu Xuejiao from Kcash founder, also delivered speeches at the event.

LAST WEEK’S Top Commits

Last week we focused on the verification of Go-Nebulas v1.1.0. In this version, the inter-contract call function will be released. Security and stability are of tantamount importance, so we deduced a number of new scenarios that may arise between contracts. The random number generation in inter-contract call function has been refined to further prevent cheating. We also redesigned the authority mechanism for inter-contract call functions to protect assets on Nebulas. We are aiming to release these this week in v1.1.0 of our Testnet. Please stay tuned.

The fourth week of the Incentive Program ended. In the four weeks we received a total of 2,765 application submissions. The number of award-winning applications exceeded 600 and the acceptance rate for dapps eligible for NAS rewards was 21.7%. The overall application submission status in May shows the following characteristics: First, the number of applications continues to increase, and the number of dapps now exceeds Ethereum’s, and secondly, high-quality applications continue to emerge late in the month.

Last week, we released the Nebulas Bounty program and received enthusiastic applications from community members. We are enthusiastic and hope to work with everyone to build a better Nebulas. All application statuses will be emailed to applicants. Also from this week, successful applications will be updated daily on our bounty program page.

In order to meet the needs of developers on different platforms, we developed JS/Java/PHP/Python/Android/iOS and other versions of the SDK. We look forward to your usage and feedback!

In order to help developers communicate more effectively, we are applying to create a Nebulas page on StackExchange. At present, it is at the stage of collecting commitments. Please join our efforts to make this page a reality! Together we can create a more vibrant Nebulas dev community.
