Neftify is thrilled to announce support for Polygon network! We want to empower the web3 developer community with cutting-edge tools and an ultra-reliable blockchain development platform. That’s why we’ve added the option to toggle between standard and dedicated Polygon nodes with exclusive piping. With this launch, we hope to reinforce Polygon’s vision of a more accessible and seamless experience for developers and users alike.

About Polygon

Polygon is a layer-two scaling solution built on top of Ethereum. It employs a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanism and is designed to enhance Ethereum’s scalability, security, and user experience. Neftify’s dedicated Polygon nodes enable developers to build applications on top of the network to harness its full potential.

The Polygon network mainly comprises four main components: Heimdall, Bor, Staking Manager Contract, and the Proof of Stake (PoS) Bridge. These elements work in tandem to create a multi-chain ecosystem that offers a scalable and secure solution for dApps.

At the core of Polygon’s node infrastructure is Heimdall, a layer of validator nodes that secure the network by validating transactions and maintaining consensus. Heimdall nodes are responsible for processing block headers, managing the validator set, and executing the checkpointing mechanism.

Validators are chosen based on the amount of MATIC tokens staked in the Staking Manager Contract. The top-ranked validators, according to their staked tokens, are included in the active validator set and rewarded for their participation in securing the network.

Bor, on the other hand, is the block producer layer of the Polygon network. It consists of multiple block producer nodes that work together to create and propagate blocks to Heimdall nodes. The Bor layer is responsible for processing transactions, validating them, and forming new blocks. This multi-node architecture allows Polygon to achieve high throughput and fast transaction finality. Bor nodes are selected from the pool of validators based on their stake and a round-robin selection algorithm. This ensures a fair and decentralized block production process.

When combined together, Bor and Heimdall nodes transform into Sentry nodes working to both download data from other nodes and transfer this data to selected validators.

The Staking Manager Contract (SMC) is a smart contract on the Ethereum network that manages the staking and delegation of MATIC tokens. Validators and delegators can interact with this contract to stake their tokens and earn rewards. The Polygon SMC also maintains the validator set and penalizes misbehaving nodes through a slashing mechanism, ensuring the security and integrity of the Polygon network.

Bridging it all together is the PoS Bridge which is a crucial component that facilitates the seamless transfer of assets between the Ethereum and Polygon networks. Users can deposit their ERC-20 or ERC-721 tokens into the PoS Bridge smart contract on Ethereum, which then mints corresponding tokens on the Polygon network. This mechanism enables users to take advantage of Polygon’s high-speed, low-cost transactions while still retaining the security of Ethereum’s main chain.

Why Neftify?

Neftify was founded in 2021, born out of frustration with the lack of tools and complexity that comes with building blockchain-based applications. So we focused all of our attention on providing developers with pre-built infrastructure so that they can just worry about building their applications, all from a familiar cloud platform with global availability and simple pricing.

Our high performance nodes are built to scale and service users from anywhere in the world, providing you with industrial grade infrastructure all the while taking away the work of setup and continuous maintenance.
