NEM partners with Blockchain Slovakia
NEM partners with Blockchain Slovakia and is diving into the strong Slovakian IT-ecosystem. Blockchain Slovakia brings together researchers, developers, entrepreneurs, regulators, investors and the public to support blockchain technology in Slovakia. NEM will, in particular, cooperate on Blockchain education, real-world projects, events, workshops and more.
The first success story was the participation in the conference, Blockwalks, in Bratislava, which brought together top-level government officials and advanced technology speakers from around the world.
Paul Rieger presented a social benefit dilemma, and how Blockchain can solve it. On one side, cash payments have high acceptance, but it enables non-transparent spending which allows people to use the money in ways which are unintended, or perhaps even harmful. On the other side, vouchers have a low acceptance, but spending is transparent and the intended use can be secured. Using a mobile application that utilizes Blockchain can enable transparent spending that is highly accepted.
The takeaway from the conference was that Blockchain will enable solutions for the public sector and the core technology is ready today. NEM offers plug & play features to build these solutions.
