NEM to provide blockchain support to Incublock’s portfolio of companies in latest signed MoU
Over the last few months, NEM has made some significant moves in South Korea since its involvement in FutureBlock 2, a blockchain event hosted by the Asia Leadership Conference (ALC). This has culminated in a MoU signed between NEM and Incublock, a blockchain consultation and lab, in South Korea on 20th July 2018.
The MoU will see NEM run joint education programs for the South Korean blockchain community, which will be, managed by Incublock. NEM will also be an advisor for their accelerator programs and portfolio companies. In fact, a session has already been scheduled later in August 2018 for NEM to share its blockchain platform capabilities to 15 of Incublock’s portfolio companies. And if any of those companies were to be interested in integrating blockchain into their existing business models, they will be officially supported by NEM.
“The Incublock team is very pleased with our partnership with NEM. With their advanced blockchain technology as its core, this partnership between us (Incublock), who are startup acceleration pioneers in the South Korean blockchain industry, and NEM will bring more companies into NEM’s global ecosystem. Together we will be a leader in this industry through our cooperation in the field of blockchain education, technology development, consulting and investment,” said Incublock CEO, David Jo.
As part of the partnership, NEM will also be setting up its NEM Satelite Hub for South Korea at Incublock’s premise where future meetups and developer training can take place as the premise has its own events hall and training rooms.
“NEM’s partnership with Incublock opens up doors not only into the robust startup ecosystem of Korea but also a physical space to be used as a NEM Satellite Hub that we will utilise to create more forums to engage the local community, drive further education efforts and be the base for further expansion” said Interim NEM Korea Country Lead, Leroy Mah.
“NEM and INCUBLOCK will also contribute to new global and governmental blockchain projects. With NEM, INCUBLOCK will make its best efforts to create a sustainable blockchain ecosystem,” Incublock’s David Jo added.
