Some may agree, while many may not even have heard of this animated Western comedy film, making the film slip through the greatest-of-all-time conversation. But this underrated movie starring Johnny Depp, voicing over a gun-slinging wannabe hero chameleon, is certainly the greatest animated movie of all time.

Released in 2011, ‘Rango’ won Best Animated Feature at the 84th Academy Awards, making it the first non-Disney or Pixar film to win since 2006’s Happy Feet and the last one to win until 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, becoming both a major critical and commercial success.

The movie follows the journey of an unknown chameleon who accidentally ends up in the town of Dirt after a near-car accident left him stranded in the Mojave Desert. There, in the town of Dirt, he adopts the name “Rango” and becomes the town’s new Sheriff after going through a series of unique experiences.

Backed by the score of the legendary composer Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean Series, The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Lion King, Gladiator), the vision of fan-favorite director Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean Series) and the voice of universally acclaimed actor Johnny Depp, our eccentric but intelligent and heroic protagonist goes above and beyond to save the town; battling the deadly and dangerous…
