Challenge details

12:00 PM UTC on January 9, 2025, to 12 PM UTC on January 14, 2025 (5 days).

Prize & distribution

The Neo Foundation is providing a $30,000 starting prize pool. Additionally, fees submitted by players will be added to the prize pool.

The first player to complete all challenges within the defined period will receive 80% of the entire prize pool.

Escape the Matrix is inspired by Freysa. To honor its pioneering work, 20% of the total prize pool will be donated to Freysa as a tribute to its groundbreaking contribution.

If no-one escapes the matrix within the defined time period, all players will share the prize pool proportionally based on the fees they submitted to play the game.

All prizes will be automatically transferred to the recipients wallets.

Prerequisites

To play the game, players must have a Neo X wallet and GAS tokens on Neo X MainNet.

How to play

There are 3 steps in Escape the Matrix.

• Step 1: Defeat Agent Smith
• Step 2: Seek guidance from Morpheus
• Step 3: Face the Oracle

Without giving away too many clues, players must engage with each agent through the terminals to discover, understand, and complete each challenge.

A conversation fee is charged for each interaction with Escape the Matrix. The fees are outlined below:

• The first message of the entire game will cost 0.1 GAS.
• Each subsequent message sent by all users across the entire game will increase the fee by 10% per message.
• Once the fee reaches 1 GAS, it will increase by 0.01 GAS per message thereafter.

Therefore, there is an incentive to solve the game quickly before the collective activity of all players drives the fee to higher levels.

A tiny portion of the fee covers the network’s transaction costs, while the remaining portion is added to the prize pool.
