Neon Mempool

Implementation of a mempool for the Neon Proxy is in progress and on track for completion within the next month. As we mentioned in our last newsletter, Neon Mempool is responsible for collecting and executing Neon transactions in a Solana-compatible order.

As the development of the mempool proceeds, it’s important to note that Neon Labs’ Mempool implementation will factor in blocked accounts when prioritizing transactions in order to take advantage of Solana’s parallel execution features. Expect more information soon!

Updates on Security Audits (SPL Governance Add-Ins)

Ensuring a secure experience with the Neon EVM is a top priority for Neon Labs. As part of an ongoing process, we’re pleased to inform the community that a security audit was recently completed by Halborn covering Neon add-ins for SPL Governance. Halborn is a team of offensive security engineers trusted and leveraged by blockchain projects such as BlockFi, Solana, Phantom, and Polygon.

In addition, Ackee Blockchain, a team of auditors and white hat hackers, will provide a second opinion to reduce the risk of unforeseen issues. While we work with our trusted partners, we want to stress our attention to detail along with the importance of providing top security for Neon users.

Extending the Maximum Storage Unit

Neon Labs is working to extend the 10MB maximum storage unit for smart contracts. Development has closed out and the team has initiated a migration to the new account structure to remove the storage limitation.

The enhancement will allow for complex smart contracts that need to store and leverage large amounts of data.

Security Audit

To ensure maximum security for developers and users, Neon EVM has gone through (and will continue to go through) a series of security audits. Our Governance add-ins have been packaged with the standard SPL governance approach and have been sent to our auditor. We are now awaiting review. Neon Labs will report back on any significant news regarding the results in the spirit of delivering full transparency to the community.

Governance

In addition to the recent Halborn audit, we’re also conducting tests on the various DAO governance functions and features to make sure everything is operational prior to launch. In parallel, the team is preparing launch scripts to support a smooth governance deployment.
