Meet the Team behind our Ukrainian Development Hub!

We are excited to have entered a new phase of growth, by expanding internationally through the opening of our first international office and development hub in Ukraine.

As a result of good timing, opportunity and a talented group of Ukrainian developers, Neonomics decided to expand and establish a development hub in Ukraine, located in Kiev. The focus of the Ukrainian Development Hub until this point has been working together with the Oslo team on building connectors with banks, and will also become a key contributor in developing product features.

Q&A with Pavlo Bilichenko — Country Manager of Neonomics Ukraine

1. Thanks for taking part in our blog post! So how many are you now in the Neonomics Ukrainian Development Hub?
   Gladly! So the Neonomics Ukrainian Development Hub was first set up in December 2019, and since then we have grown to 8 of us within six months. We are still a small team but we are continuously growing, and growing fast so I’m looking forward to seeing how the team evolves. It’s an exciting time to join Neonomics here!
2. What attracted you to work at Neonomics?
   The spirit of this company. I find the values of Neonomics to be very much aligned with my values, and that’s shown to be extremely important when building a team. Everyone at Neonomics is professional and hard-working, but they also know how to have fun!
3. What does a typical day at work look like for you?
   Definitely start the day with a morning coffee with the team, followed by a meeting to discuss priorities. We all have our priorities but of course, it’s important to maintain communication with the team and help each other out, it also really cheers us up, especially that we are currently unable to see each other. Each day typically ends with checking our daily priorities and whether or not we have achieved them, and what the priorities for the next day are. It is a fast-paced environment, so things are always changing, which makes it exciting and each day never the same!
4. What does development look like at Neonomics Ukraine?
   Currently, we have 7 Java developers. The technologies they work with are: Spark Framework, Selenium WebDriver, JUnit, Java, Maven, Git, JSON, JWT/JWS.
5. What’s next for the Neonomics Ukrainian Development Hub?
   Since we started in December 2019, we have grown almost twice the size, which is great! However, we hope to take on more projects and people in the coming months. We are aiming to grow to 20 people by the end of 2020.
6. What kind of people are you looking to join your team?
   We value our colleagues to be professional and open, as well as being good team players. Neonomics isn’t afraid to have a diverse team so we believe in being very open-minded, but of course we want to build a team of people who share our company values and want to contribute to our growth.
7. Lastly, how would you describe Neonomics in 3 words?
   Family-like, open-minded and professional

This has been a significant milestone for us, and it’s just the first step of our international expansion. We are excited to see how the team at our development hub flourishes and grows further throughout this year.
