DePIN refers to a decentralized physical infrastructure network that uses blockchain technology to build infrastructure in areas such as wireless networks, storage, location, transportation, and energy.
According to CoinGecko, a cryptocurrency statistical analysis platform, the total market capitalization of DePIN-related cryptocurrencies has exceeded 39 trillion won, which is large enough to rank among the top 10 largest companies on the KOSPI.
According to the “Crypto Theses for 2024” published by US crypto research firm Messari, DePIN is one of the categories expected to grow this year, along with DeSoc (decentralized social media) and DeSci (decentralized science).
