By using a wide set of resources, I can stay in touch with various ideas and develop my understanding of important topics with more diverse perspectives. In this article, I will be going over 5 YouTube channels, that have helped me understand a lot about money, business, and finance. If you’re looking for content that is engaging, informative, and useful- add these 5 to your list.

The Golden 5 Channels to boost your money game

Modern MBA-When it comes to deep dives into various businesses and what makes them tick- Modern MBA is the king. His videos can be fairly long, and he’s not scared to get into the financial numbers- but his content is very digestible. I can’t recommend his work enough, because it provides a window into how various industries/companies work and how they make money. He goes over various important business decisions and how they impacted the companies. His analysis is crisp, and if you’re looking to become a tech manager/entrepreneur, then his channel is a gold-mine of insights. His videos on Uber (Why Uber Fails to Disrupt Transportation) and Twitter ( Betrayal & Greed: How 4 CEOs and $5B Failed Twitter)are both masterpieces.
How Money Works- Regular readers know that this is one of my favorite channels, and we have referenced the videos a few times. HMW is a former investment banker, and he shares his insider knowledge in videos that are entertaining, insightful, (and often) shocking. His recent video- Why Corporate America Is Obsessed With “Company Culture”- is a great example of the value he brings. I also referred to another of his fan favorites in my article on why companies promote bad managers and how you can fix it.
Economics Explained- If you want insights into the most important economics ideas and developments, then EE is your man. His video Young Generations Are Now Poorer Than Their Parents And It’s Changing Our Economies is a must-watch. He also does very interesting breakdowns on the economics of various nations- breaking down the good and the bad. Great for perspective in a connected world.
Money and Macro- Take EE, and make it more academic/technical. You get M&M, an economics channel run by an economics professor. M&M content isn’t as pretty as HMW or EE, but that is because he is often more detailed. When it comes to building your knowledge, he is a first-round pick. His video- Ray Dalio’s China Analysis Makes No Sense- is brave, approachable, and filled with knowledge. Joeri is a true virtuoso of economics education
Coffezilla- Coffee is a great example that you don’t need tons of specialized knowledge to spot scams. All it requires is some common sense, critical thinking, and discipline to not be caught by hype. I love his work because can help you gain a lot of insight into how scams operate and the tactics they employ to bait you. In a world with hype and scams, watching his videos is a must.
