All About Machine Learning — For Beginners
Artificial Intelligence (AI) surrounds us all. You are using it, for sure, and you might not even know about it.
Machine Learning is one of the most popular applications of AI. It is used everywhere, from our emails to our song recommendations , in banks, hospitals, etc. So, what exactly is Machine Learning.
Machine Learning is a field of study that uses data and give computers the ability to learn and predict using that data without being explicitly programmed.
We create tons and tons of data everyday. Whether we are calling someone or watching cooking shows, whether we are shopping online or paying at a restaurant, we create data every minute. Using this data we can develop a relation between what our input was and what the results look like. This relation then can be applied to a Machine Learning model to predict results.
Now that we know the basic idea behind Machine Learning , let’s dig a little deeper and learn about its basic types.
Supervised Learning : in this type we are given a dataset and already know what our correct output should look like, having an idea that there is a relationship between input and output. It is further divided into classification and regression.
Unsupervised Learning : in this type we approach problems with little or no idea what our results should look like. It is further divided into clustering and non-clustering.
Reinforcement Learning : It is about taking suitable action to maximize reward in a particular situation. There is no answer but the reinforcement agent decides what to do to perform the given task. In the absence of a training dataset, it is bound to learn from its experience.
