For every Windows user that has ever experienced Linux before. I believe there is one command that Microsoft should add in the next Windows update. It’s opening terminal using a shortcut. We easily call the terminal in Linux distribution by pressing this shortcutCtrl+Alt+T

There is no official terminal in Windows. We use Command Prompt and Powershell here. But, for opening the apps, we should press the search button and type whether ‘CMD’ or ‘PowerShell’. Did you know there is a way to open the feature to access those two apps easily using the keyboard shortcut?

The Shortcut

Okay, here is the step for opening the apps using the keyboard shortcut. Here I will give an example for opening the Command Prompt.

  1. In Start Menu, find ‘cmd’ then click ‘Open File Location.’

2. Open the Properties options

3. Here, you will see that the Shortcut key is still None; click it

4. By clicking it, create the shortcut whatever you want using the keyboard. I prefer using the same as Linux Ctrl+Alt+T

5. Click ‘Apply’ then ‘OK’

Conclusion

Congratulations, right now, you could open the Command Prompt by using Ctrl+Alt+T. Actually, it worked for all Windows applications. I give the title like above to make sure all Windows developers recognize this story and take advantage of it.

Happy Sharing. Thanks for reading. 😇
