Medium VS Techcrunch

despite them being publishing company TechCrunch and Medium are of course different. Techcrunch is a publishing company focused on venture investing and startup information with an editorial team of selected people writing articles for us to read While Medium is a publishing platform that allows everyone to write an article and publish them and getting maybe revenues from these article with the Medium Partner program which not still a feature available in Africa where I lived now. Besides that fact, you can see some interesting other differences with the screenCapture below.

The traffic of medium by country

What popped is that they geographically have the same audience with just a single difference Japan for TechCrunch and Brazil for Medium.

These two platforms have different audiences because Techcrunch has a more narrow and specific audience interesting in a specific topic while Medium targets an audience that has an interest in anything interesting that another one publishes. But Why Medium is almost absent in Japan while Techcrunch is? Why Medium has a presence in Brazilia while Techcrun doesn't?

Here is for TechCrunch with Japan accounting for 14% of the visits even more than United Kingdoms

The Page per Visit also is worth noticing

Medium VS Techcrunch metrics

The visit duration and bounce rate of TechCrunch are higher than in Medium but Medium has 10X more visits than Techcrunch does but what interesting is that they both have the same average pages per visit. I think this is a clue and started thinking about this. Some ideas but no clues apart from me publishing metrics of these publishing platforms but what about google analytics script found here?
