Outreachy Internship wrap-up
“Valar Dohaeris” — All men must serve
After giving me tons of confidence, my Outreachy journey is ending this week. There were many fears that turned out to not come true. The first and worst one was that I am never gonna get selected. 😅 But here I am writing my wrap-up blog.
I would like to mention few amazing things that happened during the internship.
Confidence
It gave me the confidence to dream big, and the courage to fight my imposter syndrome. I learned, it is never late to start something new. You are never too old to be bold.
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream” — C. S. Lewis
Blogging
Another thing, I tried the first time was publishing my blogs, though they just consisted of random pieces of my journal. But it felt good sharing with you all. Moreover, I explored a new side of myself, “yeah, I can do that too!”
OpenSource
I used Ubuntu, GitHub, and OpenSource project on daily basis and I don’t even know when I got so comfortable with all these tools.
Helping Others
Having a positive influence on someone’s life and helping others is such a beautiful feeling.
“We rise by lifting others” — Robert G. Ingersoll
When I get messages on LinkedIn asking for help and advice, I feel that I might have motivated someone to start something new, and dream big.
My Core Values
In the first blog, I talked about the three core values that helped me to get selected.
- Growth
- Determination
- Positive Outlook
I would say that this internship has enhanced these qualities, and made me a better person.
My outreach internship is ending but hopefully, I will continue blogging. Thank you for reading :’))
