Personalization and independence day
Personalization is what the technology is trying to achieve. People like me do things like this. Internet is the one that uses more personalization and progress made with artificial intelligence and data gathered from our online behavior will make it more and more feels like the content we consume online is particularly made for us. But personalization can never be made at the extreme because physical limits like processing and storage power will make it reach an asymptotic level. Then it is not personalization that we will get but rather tribalization, tiny groups of people that seems to look, feel and taste the same way. Life is not like that really, each of us has a peculiar character as a key distinction from other but The algorithms we will design will hardly reach this level of granularity of personalization that we can call personification.
Google started with a quite simple UI but tried to achieve personalization of this simple UI early by asking designer and illustrator to brings themed design of the logo of Google through a challenge. Since they started this experiment Google never stopped it and this is now a key differentiating factor of the search engine. These personalized logos of google are called Doodles.
