What’s it all about?
- Most of the time should be spent discussing items helpful for the candidate’s development plan.
- Ask about the candidate’s life, getting married, moving to a new place, and hobbies,…
- Discussing how stressed they feel. It could be a rate from 1 to 5
- Discuss how the candidate generally feels about a specific company’s update or if someone is leaving.
- Addressing the candidate’s fears if any
- Managers could share a quick summary of what he/she’s been working on recently.
- Each time we should swap who will write the meeting minutes and both parties should have an agreement about the written meeting minutes that are filled up after the meeting.
- It could be a small retro about what the person did really well and what could have been done better.
- Managers ask candidates for a quick review. Actions could be assigned also to the managers
What is it not about?
- Discussing status updates about ongoing projects (this should be done during standups)
- Technical discussions or design decisions
