EA Teases ‘Star Wars Battlefront’ May the 4th Special Event — and Lando!

“Star Wars Day” — appropriately dated May the 4th — is almost upon us, meaning your (ridiculous) hopes of taking a break from anything and everything “Star Wars”-related is about to be shot down.

“Star Wars Battlefront” producer Craig McLeod revealed plans to celebrate the euphoric day with a May the 4th special event for the game. Unfortunately, no tangible information was given. All we know is that there will be “cool activities” to participate in.

Additionally, thanks to community feedback — which can, at times, be quite negative — DICE and EA are bringing “Star Wars Battlefront” players more in-game events, like double score weekends and community events; Hutt contracts to unlock Star Cards like the Berserker Trait, Bacta Bomb and Ion Neutralizer; and new content that will allow players to enjoy the game more offline.

EA also confirmed that each DLC pack part of the game’s season pass will come with two heroes/villains — adding up to a total of eight characters in the season pass. The next expansion, “Star Wars Battlefront: Bespin,” releasing this June, will come with Lando Calrissian and the bounty hunter Dengar!

That means, four heroes/villains remain unknown. Though he’s not necessarily a playable type of hero, Admiral Ackbar should be added in recognition of the passing of Erik Bauersfeld, who voiced the character in “Return of the Jedi” and “The Force Awakens.”
