This ‘Harry Potter’ Actor Is Now an MMA Fighter
What do you do after spending over a decade in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World? Apparently, for one “Harry Potter” star, life after “Harry Potter” means MMA fighting.
Josh Herdman, who played Draco Malfoy’s lackey, Gregory Goyle, made somewhat of a career change by becoming an MMA fighter. He made his debut this week during Brad Pickett’s Rise of Champions in the UK, beating his opponent, Janusz Walachowski of Poland, by unanimous decision.
“I don’t see it so much as a career change, I still act and am passionate about both acting and fighting,” Herdman told Addictedotr about starting MMA fighting.
“I obviously grew up around sport, looking at my Dad’s newspaper clippings as a kid (his father, Martin Herdman was a boxer and professional rugby league player prior to pursuing an acting career in his late 20’s), he taught us all how to fight from an early age, I also played rugby from about 6–13.”
