As I’m trying to build the habit of writing a blog post each day, I come to the conclusion that finding something to write about is harder than the actual act of writing it. And that’s what makes developing my new habit even harder; it’s easy to waste valuable time site-hopping pretending to be looking for something to write about.

Thanks to HubSpot’s blog ideas generator, this is no longer the case. This tool made it easier for me to come up with ideas for my pieces. Sure, not everything it suggests is worth pursuing as is, but at least it helps me a lot getting inspired.

You want to know more about it? You’re in the right place.

HubSpot’s blog ideas generator is very easy to use: just type in three nouns, click the aptly-named ‘Give me blog ideas!’ button, and voila! Five titles (and ideas) will show up on your screen in less than 5 seconds.

Let’s say you’re looking to write about ‘blog’, ‘idea’, and ‘writing’. Here’s what HubSpot’s tool would suggest:

  1. 5 Tools Everyone In The Blog Industry Should Be Using

2. 20 Myths About Idea

3. The Worst Advice We’ve Ever Heard About Writing

4. The History Of Blog

5. The Ultimate Cheat Sheet On Idea

Sure, you might not be inclined to write about the history of blogging, or the twenty supposedly myths about … idea?? But this small list may do a good job showing you the way to a better topic to write about. Still, if that does not happen, just click the ‘Try again’ button to do just that.

And that’s NOT it!

Actually, as I’m writing this, I stumbled upon another version of this tool: HubSpot allows you to download a spreadsheet of more than 250 blog posts ideas! Not only this is (almost) enough to write 5 posts a week for a year, but since the spreadsheet is dynamic, you can generate an infinite stream of ideas! Neat.

What do you guys think about this tool? How did you find the ideas it generates? Do you have a tool of your own for that? A trick? We’d love to hear it! Thanks ;)
