The Year Ahead

If 2019 was the year of laying the foundation for Nervos, 2020 will be the year we build out its core functionality.

With the launch of CKB mainnet Lina, we made significant steps toward our goal — a decentralized economy running on top of a suite of protocols. True to our core principles, we didn’t compromise on what we delivered. This is something we are incredibly proud of.

We realize we are still at the beginning of our journey and have a lot to tackle in the upcoming year. Development, Research, and our Community will be key areas of focus. Explore our complete 2020 Roadmap.

Development

DAO Update

  • The Nervos DAO allows users to lock CKBytes (that are not being used) and receive rewards from secondary issuance. Since launching mainnet, over 1.7 Billion CKBytes, more than 10% of the circulating supply, have been deposited in the Nervos DAO, from over 950 addresses. You can track the Nervos DAO on-chain info with CKB explorer.

Dev Update

  • Our latest update, v0.26.1 has released
  • Check out the transcript from our first Dev AMA. Have a question for our Dev team? Submit it directly on one of our Telegram channels.
  • CKB github activity for December (below). For all Nervos activity reference https://github.com/nervosnetwork.

Ecosystem Update

  • Dragonfly Capital invests in Nervos.
  • ABC Wallet becomes the first wallet to support the import of $CKB mnemonics. Thanks to its original SNS-based decentralized payment system, you can receive and send $CKB via WeChat and Messenger.

Events

LABitConf

This year we were thrilled to sponsor and attend the Latin America Bitcoin and Blockchain Conference in Uruguay.

In order to evolve financial or political systems, we need new ways by which we organize the flow of data, and the values of a self-sustaining community based on a constructive culture of open access, trustlessness, inclusion and merit. Latin America is the perfect place for these ideas to flourish– most people understand from experience why centralized systems are fragile and tend to fail, and know first-hand the impact when that happens.
