Nervos Quarterly Letter for Q3 2020

Following the success of our first Quarterly Letter, we are excited to update you on what has been going on across the Nervos Network in Q3 of this year.

It has been a busy few months since we ticked off some major milestones in Q2 and we have made big strides in important areas for blockchain, namely DeFi and interoperability.

In general, the Nervos Network and its vibrant community have been expanding greatly with Town Halls, Grants and community competitions all hitting the right buttons with Nervos followers.

Driving DeFi

It has been near impossible, through Q3, to not take an interest in the DeFi space. We didn’t want to be left behind and managed to make some great strides in this arena. We made good progress in building out a DeFi playground for current and future blockchain developers and We also brought out our DeFi hub.

Not to mention, the collaborations with oracle providers, such as Chainlink and Band Protocol, drew major interest while we spelled out the rest of the road ahead for 2020 in our successful Town Hall.

Interest in Interoperability

We know Interoperability is going to be a deciding factor in the next generation of the blockchain and in Q3 our cross chain work really started taking off. This was highlighted in the integration of Portal Wallet which was developed using the pw-sdk that enables dApps on CKB to run in any cryptocurrency wallet.

We continue to build on creating the next generation of interoperability with some key announcements still to come before the end of the year.

Community boom

We count ourselves lucky to have such a keen and active community that has more than doubled since we last counted in Q2. Now, there are around 82,000+ community members as compared with the 40,000 from three months before.

It can’t really be contributed to one thing, but our community competition (#Memecraft) was a hit, while we also announced more grants, CKLabs updates, and started rolling out Town Hall events. Overall, the excitement is up about where Nervos is headed and that’s reflected in the numbers we see in the report.
