Nest Collective Summer Internship ’19
The fourth edition of our summer internship is now open for applications. ️☀️
Are you ready to launch your career? The Nest Collective Summer Internship ’19 is your best way to enter the world of product development. And we’re glad to announce that applications are now officially open.
In our internship, you’ll have the chance to work with experienced people in the software industry, while developing a real digital product. And, because Nest Collective is a collective 🙃, throughout the internship you’ll have contact with and receive close mentorship from several companies — RedLight, Deemaze, Pink Room, Symantec, Grama, F#*king Amazing, Good Barber, Versátil Contexto, Open Dome.
The Internship
Here’s the line up we’re preparing for your summer with us:
- Kick-off. 🚀 An introduction, Meet&Greet and office tour — it’s your first contact with the people you’ll be working with at Nest and the rest of your team. We’ll show you around and get you settled on your workspace.
- Training Week. 🎓 During your first week at Nest you will receive a set of trainings, and each training will be lectured by the mentors of that domain, so get to know them. You’ll see them a lot throughout the summer!
- Product Design Sprint. 🐣 Your second week is dedicated to the Design Sprint. This is where you make first approach with the idea that you’ll turn into an MVP. The idea is a secret and will not be shared before this point.
- The Development Phase. 🔥 You’re left with ~1.5 months that will be filled with knowledge and breakthroughs. You’ll have the full experience of working in software development with you own team. And, of course, each week ends with a showcase, in which you share the progress made throughout the week with everyone.
- Final Presentation + A Product + A Party! 🍹🎉 By the end of the summer your product will be prepared to be used by the world. This calls for a celebration! 🍻

Timeline: 28 June — 30 August
What we want you to learn
We’ll try to give you exposure to all kinds of design and development work.
- Development of an idea.
- Research and project planning.
- Interviewing stakeholders and final users.
- Prototyping ideas at the creative/concept phase.
- Testing and Validation.
- Designing User interface and defining User experience.
- Setting up a software project.
- Back-end and front-end development.
- Writing about the whole experience.
