The interns got through another week!

After our first week at Nest Collective, the mentors gave us a challenge: make a project that helps new and independent bands grow and get noticed. For one entire week, we laid all cards in the table and tried to figure out what the market was lacking​. We soon realized both the artists and the audiences lacked a way of getting and sharing feedback of the concerts .

Many brainstorms 🌩 and arguments later, we had an idea of what we were going to do: an app that allows people to check-in into concerts, give feedback and donate to the artists. People would also be able to follow artists and schedule events they wish to attend 😎🎵.

When we got to the point of planning the development, we had to cut out the donations (along with many other super cool features 😥).

Unfortunately, there is no time for everything. But not to worry, small bands will still get attention, since our app is going to suggest nearby concerts! 😎

Just as we started to work some magic, we found our first obstacle. No API would give us informations about the bands and their concerts 😨. We will now work with Spotify’s API to get the artists, and users will enter the events themselves. This wasn’t easy on the designers’ side either: we have to make sure users won’t get bored of giving the necessary information.

We all agree the best part so far has been what we’ve learned about product design (instead of simply focusing on making features work or putting a good design out there). Thanks to our amazing mentors 💙, we’ve been in direct contact with the reality of developing a full product. Besides, for most of us, this is the biggest team we’ve worked with, where each one has a different and specific role — also a great challenge.

Now we just want to make sure we have time to do all we expect!
